Youth can apply for an eight week summer crew member position and/or year round positions. Youth typically work in the summer four days a week for six hours a day at project hosts sites throughout Sonoma County and are paid at least minimum wage depending on assigned job duties.

The Sonoma County Youth Ecology Corps builds crew member’s work readiness skills and engages them in activities that enhance their career development and increase their environmental stewardship skills. Each youth is provided work-readiness training, a lifetime membership to the Kuder online career planning tool and environmental education (modules include Nature/Environmental Awareness, Cycles of the Ecosystem, Water and the Watersheds and Plant Maintenance and Resource Conservation). The youth also participate in an opportunities job fair, tours of the Water Agency facilities and informational interviews. Each crew member also has the opportunity to complete the Sonoma County Work-Ready Certificate.
