The Sonoma County Water Agency (the Water Agency)
The Sonoma County Water Agency provides resources and leadership to the Sonoma Youth Ecology Corps effort. The Water Agency creates work and learning opportunities for several crews throughout the summer work experience, supports and implements the education enhancements, provides support to the Energy and Water Resources Academy and coordinates the community service days. Agency staff also assist with logistics. The Water Agency provides funds to support the implementation of the SCYEC program components and to support youth wages.
The Sonoma County Workforce Investment Board and Human Services Department
The Sonoma County Workforce Investment Board along with its staff from the Sonoma County Human Services Department provides leadership and manages the summer work experience for the Sonoma County Youth Ecology Corps. They contract with the five youth agencies that hire and support the youth crews. The Sonoma County Workforce Investment Board provides funds to employ youth, administered through the Sonoma County Human Services Department.
The Sonoma County Office of Education
Sonoma County Office of Education supports the educational enhancements to the SCYEC and provides the youth a lifetime membership to the Kuder online career assessment tool. Sonoma County Office of Education also implements the Energy and Water Resources Academy.
New Ways to Work
New Ways to Work assists the partners in the overall project design and strategic planning. New Ways to Work supports the education enhancements that improve the quality of the summer program experience for Sonoma County’s youth and young adults.
